A couple of months ago I blogged about my thrifty picture frame collage I had created to decorate the living room of our new home. I had gone a little gold spray paint-mad and sprayed every frame I could find and even sprayed every door knob in gold to match the shabby chic (or shaggy sheep as D thinks it’s called) look we (mostly me) are giving our home.
Last Saturday I found some plastic ornate frames in Poundland of all places. At £1 each they are such a bargain! I haven’t found a frame for that price at the car boot or charity shop. The frames came in 3 different sizes and had either square or oval windows, and in either black or white. The colour wasn’t an issue – I have my trusty gold spray paint! Sadly some shapes and colours had sold out and looking back I wish I had bought more!
The frames are free standing but the rest is easily removed using a knife and a quick tug. The hole for the wall pin is easily made with a thin screwdriver. I just measured the centre point from either side and screwed the screwdriver into the removed backboard.
A great gold finish can be achieved on both the black and white frames. Look how amazing the design of the frames are- and for just £1!
The first pic to go up is of D’s late Grandma. We just need to print some more pics for the remaining frames so we can add them to the collage too. Here is how it is looking so far…
So hurry and get yourself down to Poundland if you like the look and price of these frames- I’m sure they will sell out quickly.
PS. Have you managed to find frames
this lovely and so cheap?
